Education is in our roots here at Rogue Credit Union. We began as a teacher’s credit union in 1956 and our commitment to education remains strong. For graduating high school seniors, or adults seeking to advance their careers with a degree, Rogue Credit Union offers several scholarships every year. Each of the available Rogue scholarships are a one-time gift of $1,500 and are awarded based on academics, school involvement, community involvement and financial need.

Please note:

Funds will be paid directly to the college/university of choice and credited in the recipient's name. Proof of admission is required for funds to be dispersed to the recipient’s school. 

 

Scholarships will be forfeited if recipient fails to enroll in school within 6 months of receipt

Before you apply, we advise gathering the following information:

  • Contact information, including: name, phone number, address (physical and email), and your intended major
  • A list of any other scholarships you have been awarded
  • Your most recent transcript
  • At least two letters of recommendation - three is preferable
  • A list of school and non-school related activities, including volunteer activities
  • A list of honors and awards
     

Available Scholarships

Vern and Marti Arnold Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Must be a graduating senior from Jackson County with a 3.0 or better GPA, planning to attend a state or private accredited institution of higher education in the United States. Established to recognize past President/CEO, Vern Arnold and his wife Marti, for their many years of dedicated service.


Harry Wright Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Must be a graduating senior from Jackson County with a 2.75 or better GPA, planning to attend a state or private accredited institution of higher education in Oregon and pursuing a degree in education, mathematics or science. Established to recognize Harry Wright for 31 years of dedicated service to the Rogue Credit Union Board of Directors.


Rogue Credit Union Josephine County Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Must be a graduating senior from Josephine County with a 3.0 or better GPA, planning to attend a state or private accredited institution of higher education in the United States. 


Rogue Credit Union Klamath County Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Must be a graduating senior from Klamath County with a 3.0 or better GPA, planning to attend a state or private accredited institution of higher education in the United States. 


Rogue Credit Union South Coast Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Must be a graduating senior from Coos or Curry County with a 3.0 or better GPA, planning to attend a state or private accredited institution of higher education in the United States. Two scholarships available. 


Rogue Credit Union Douglas County Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Must be a graduating senior from Douglas County with a 3.0 or better GPA, planning to attend a state or private accredited institution of higher education in the United States. 


Vern Voss Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Must be a graduating senior residing in Jackson, Josephine, Coos, Curry, Douglas, Klamath, Malheur or Payette County with a 2.5 or better GPA, planning to pursue a vocational degree. Established to recognize past volunteer, Vern Voss for his many years of dedicated service to Rogue Credit Union.


Tim and Carol Alford Scholarship (Members over 25)

Eligibility requirements: Applicants must hold a High School Diploma or GED, be 25 years of age or older, and be a member of Rogue Credit Union or Malheur Federal Credit Union. Applicant must be planning to attend a state or private accredited institution of higher education and enroll in a minimum of 6 credits per term. This scholarship was established to assist members who are pursuing a degree to advance their career or as a requirement for present employment. Established to recognize past President/CEO, Tim Alford and his wife Carol, for their many years of dedicated service.


Treasure Valley Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Must be a graduating high school senior residing in Malheur county or Payette county, with a 3.0 or better GPA, and plan on attending a state or private accredited institute of higher education in the United States.


Waldene Terry Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Must be a graduating senior who is either a member themselves or whose parent/guardian is a member of Rogue Credit Union or Malheur Federal Credit Union. Applicants must have a 3.0 or better GPA and must plan on attending a state or private accredited institute of higher education in the United States. Established to recognize long time member and Supervisory Committee Member of over 25 years, Waldene Terry.
