Gene's Note: A Year in Review

The New Year has always been time of reflection for me. It’s astonishing how quickly time can fly by. As I look back on 2018, I think first of the incredible dedication of our Board and Supervisory Committee. They have always put our members first through economic challenges, competitive pressures and increasing regulations. They live, work and play in this community and Southern Oregon is a better place because of their commitment to ensuring that there is a strong and stable local credit union. I am most thankful for the heart for service displayed by our team members. Whether it is Port Orford, Roseburg, the Rogue Valley, or Klamath Falls, I am fortunate to hear the stories about how our team members make being a member of Rogue Credit Union so special. I am honored to work with such dedicated people and their service commitment inspires me!


2018 was an incredible year at Rogue Credit Union.  In 2018, our teams focused on creating even more exceptional experiences for YOU, our loyal member-owners. Throughout the year, we have looked at ways that we can provide even more convenient service to you both in person and through technology. We listened to your feedback and extended our Saturday branch hours at most locations so you can access quality in-person service when it is convenient for you. We also launched a brand new website to help you more easily find the information you need, live chat with a Rogue team member or even apply for a loan!


In 2018 we also saw the launch of our new kids’ savings program, the Rogue Rangers Kids Club. The Rogue Rangers, Wally the Wolf, Sammy the Squirrel and Ollie the Owl, offer even more financial education opportunities for our young members, as well as quarterly events and activities. One of the most exciting moments at Rogue Credit Union for me happened last month. We were able to return $4 million back to our members in a Loyalty Dividend. As a member of a financial cooperative like Rogue, you are an owner. That means when the credit union is successful, we share the profits with the people that made it possible, YOU!


As we move into 2019, our focus is not going to change; we'll keep working to create even more exceptional experiences at every touch point! Up first will be an exciting new Online Banking platform that will provide a new, wide variety of tools to help make managing your finances easy and simple. As we pass from year to year, many things change but at Rogue one thing never will; we will always focus on creating exceptional experiences for every member, every moment. Finally, I am most thankful for the trust that you have placed in Rogue Credit Union!
